Entrepreneur Advising | Strategic Leadership Support | Economic Development Partnership
Scope
The Mingo County Redevelopment Authority (MCRA) is a public agency dedicated to advancing economic and civic vitality in southern West Virginia. Focused on attracting and growing businesses and industries, MCRA plays a critical role in local job creation and long-term community development. Selah Directive (formerly Ballard Consulting Group) partnered with MCRA to provide dual-track support—strengthening internal leadership capacity while advising local entrepreneurs through its Business Assistance Program. This hybrid engagement bridged our Serve and Endeavor Directives, blending nonprofit strategy with small business coaching to meet the needs of a dynamic regional economy. This engagement included:
Strategic support for MCRA leadership and internal team capacity
Coaching and technical assistance for small business clients
Capital stacking guidance and investment readiness advising
Support for regional economic development planning and implementation
This past partnership illustrates Selah Directive’s long-standing commitment to strengthening economic ecosystems—where public-sector leadership and private-sector entrepreneurship work in tandem to serve West Virginia communities.
